About Me

Daniel James Pike is a writer, graphic designer, and filmmaker from Windsor-Essex County in Southern Ontario, Canada. From a young age, Daniel has had his sights set on a creative future after he picked up his first video camera in Sears when he was 13 years old. In 2018, Daniel launched County House Pictures, a small film production company on a mission to craft great stories ‘from script to screen.’

Daniel’s debut short horror film The Acrylic (2019), was officially selected into 12 international film festivals, and won two awards at the Indie Shorts Film Festival in 2019 and 2021. His quasi-autobiographical short film, Blue & White (2022) was a finalist for best film at the 2022 Toronto Couch Film Festival, was an official selection in the 2022 Full Bloom Film Festival in North Carolina, and a festival category winner at the Toronto Independent Film Festival of CIFT for Summer 2022.

Between 2012 to the present day, Daniel has placed in a number of screenwriting competitions including an Official Selection to the inaugural You-CAN-Pitch workshop at the 2023 Canadian Film Fest, Top 3 at the Nashville Film Festival Pitch Competition in 2022, Top 5 at StudioFest in 2018, and the Top 4 at the Canadian Film Festival in 2015. Daniel has also been selected as a Quarterfinalist in the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting associated through the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Daniel is a proud member of the LGBTQ2IA+ community and the ADHD neurodivergent community. He hopes to meet like-minded creative individuals with unique stories to tell.
